Dan Bushell is a Florida Bar Board Certified Appellate Practice Specialist, who believes that effective appellate advocacy requires knowledge of the law not as a stagnant historical snapshot, but as a dynamic part of courts’ ever-evolving jurisprudence. For that reason, Dan has worked not only to fine tune his research, writing and oral advocacy skills, but also to stay on top of case law developments and trends as they happen.
Dan represents individuals and businesses in appeals in federal and state courts throughout Florida as well as in other jurisdictions. He also provides litigation support for trial court issues such as jury instructions and motion practice, and helps trial counsel ensure that their clients’ cases are best positioned to prevail on appeal.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the University of Michigan, Dan spent the first 8 1/2 years of his career litigating multi-million dollar class actions and other high-stakes, complex cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States.
Dan’s work has resulted in precedent-setting decisions from the Florida Supreme Court and Florida District Courts of Appeal, as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and numerous other Federal Courts nationwide. His articles have been published in legal and business publications such as The Daily Business Review and The Record, among others. He also lectures on Appellate Practice and other topics for Continuing Legal Education programs.
